The Boone High School News Paper
How did it get it's name: In 1914 the students of Boone High had a contest for the purpose of securing a name for their school paper. Oscar Holmberg (BHS 1915), who was the head accountant for the Chicago & North Western in 1924, was the winner with his suggestion of the The Bumble "B" with the 'B' standing for Boone. The first copy of The Bumble "B" was a bright red magazine with ten pages.
