Sacred Heart Church - Painting behind the main altar

The interior of the church was repainted for the second time around 1937.  The most significant change was replacing the original painting of the Apparition of the Sacred Heart, which was behind the main altar, to that of the Transfiguration of Jesus on Mt. Tabor.
 
I received a comment on this website from Kathy Mallin, she said her grandfather, John A. Mallin, decorated Sacred Heart Church in Boone about 1937.  She said she had a website on her grandfather’s works and that he decorated more than 100 churches in his lifetime.  She was missing a picture of the Boone painting, so I found one from my wedding in 1961 to include on her website.
